Improving the Lived Experience of our LGBTQ+ community and allies in the Mountains of Colorado

In our first year, we provided over 5,200 meaningful touchpoints to over 3,000 individuals through our four strategic program areas. But beyond numbers is the story of one; one parent, one youth, one educator, one queer person whose life is forever changed because they now have a source of unified support. We are listening to individuals and our community every day. While we can celebrate how far we’ve come in just one year, we know that there is still work to be done so that all members of our community can be PROUD.

EDUCATION

The goal of Mountain Pride's educational programming is to promote acceptance and understanding of the LGBTQIA+ community by delivering training, workshops, and speaking engagements to the community, organizations, healthcare workers, schools, and to the community at large on various topics to ensure welcoming and thriving environments for all.

COMMUNITY

A sense of belonging is a strong safety net that can support positive health outcomes, particularly for those belonging to marginalized communities.

Our community events seek to grow connections, lift our allies, enhance visibility, and celebrate LGBTQIA+ individuals. Mountain Pride hosts community-building events informed by community feedback and ideas.

ADVOCACY & ACTIVISM

Mountain Pride supports LGBTQIA+ individuals with difficult situations like discrimination and harassment and helps individuals and the community navigate support services. We advocate for reform, connecting with local and state representatives, encouraging civic engagement, and making investments for the betterment of our communities.

LGBTQIA+ individuals may experience a multitude of barriers in accessing resources or care. We provide information related to the community's informed needs, such as sexual health services, suicide prevention, mental health resources, peer support, gender-affirming resources, coming out, HIV & STI, and more. Peer support groups are available year-round to allow individuals to speak with specialists to reduce anxiety, improve self-esteem, and help overall well-being.
